Temperance Welfare Foundation is a grass roots NGO committed to bring real change in rural communities. We work to ensure quality education for children, menstrual hygiene awareness, empowerment of rural women, and the elimination of child labour. Driven by compassion and community spirit, we aim to create a future where every child learns, every woman leads, and no child is forced to work.
Menstruation is a natural process, yet in many parts of rural India, it remains a topic wrapped in shame, silence, and misinformation. Recognizing the critical need for awareness and dignity in this space, Temperance Welfare Foundation has launched a dedicated Menstrual Hygiene Care Program aimed at educating adolescent girls and supporting their health with free sanitary pad distribution.
With activity-based learning, trained local teachers, and free study materials, over 700 children are now gaining literacy, confidence, and a brighter outlook on life. Many are reading and writing for the first time, while families are becoming more aware of the importance of education — especially for girls.
This grassroots movement is not just about classrooms — it’s about breaking cycles of poverty and building futures. The impact is visible: better attendance, reduced dropouts, and rising community involvement.
The Foundation's work proves that even in the most underserved corners, education can be a powerful light — and the journey has only just begun.
The Foundation's women empowerment initiative focuses on skill development tailored to local needs and market opportunities. The aim is simple yet powerful — equip women with practical skills that can help them earn and lead dignified lives. Through targeted training programs and livelihood initiatives, the Foundation has empowered over 600 women so far, helping them become financially independent and socially confident.
Temperance Welfare Foundation is taking a strong stand against child labor by reaching out to rural communities and making real change happen on the ground. We have connected over 7,400 children from 32 villages to the world of education — children who were once forced into labor are now attending temporary schools and will soon be enrolled in government schools.
We are not only providing them with new clothes, shoes, and stationery, but also working closely with their parents, encouraging them to choose education over labor for their children. The response has been heartwarming, with families actively supporting this mission.
Today, these villages are witnessing a wave of transformation — smiles have replaced hardship, and hope is replacing helplessness.
